Students who want to use the internet must fill out this application and the school/student/parent agreement form. If the signed form is not on file, students will not be permitted to use the internet at school.

Wilmington City Schools has an internet filtering system in place through out data acquisition site. The proxy server (as the filter is called) is designed to block pornography and other inappropriate information/ pictures from school computers. While the filter is updated daily, there is always a remote chance that an objectionable site could reach the desktop. Grade school teachers practice bookmarking Internet sites for students, thus reducing opportunities for free surfing.

School/Student/Parent Agreement for Internet Use

It is  the belief of Wilmington City Schools that classroom access to the Internet is a privilege, not a right. There will be accountability and consequences should a student violate the rules.

The School District reserves the right to monitor Internet usage.

The School District reserves the right to ban a student from the Internet if s/he is found to have violated any acceptable uses of the Internet.

Some classes may maintain a website on the Internet. Such sites may contain representations of students’ work and/or a photograph of the student/class. No individual will be fully identified on such sites however first name and age may be declared if necessary. Please indicate below if you agree/disagree with this activity.

Please take a few minutes to discuss the responsibilities associated with using the Internet with your child before you sign the agreement.
