WCS Kindergarten 2023-24

If your child will be 5 years old on or before September 30th, then they are eligible for entrance into Kindergarten at WCS for the upcoming school year. Enrollment begins March 1st.

You have two options to obtain a Kindergarten Packet beginning on March 1st:

• Complete our Kindergarten Packet Request form beginning March 1st to receive a digital packet of materials
  OR

• Pick up a registration packet from the WCS Board Office, 341 S. Nelson Ave.

Registering kindergarten children early is vital to planning for the next school year.  Please submit your completed registration packet by May 1st. 

Kindergarten Parent Orientation

WCS will be hosting information nights for incoming kindergarten parents - 2 in person and 1 virtual event. Please use the form linked below to register for one of the following nights:

• May 4, 2023 (In-Person), 6:30pm
• May 9, 2023 (In-Person), 6:30pm
• May 16, 2023 (Virtual), 7:00pm

Additionally, there will be a kindergarten student orientation on August 14, 2023. More information will follow as the date approaches. Parents will have an opportunity to meet teachers, tour the building, and prepare their students for the first day of school.

Scheduling a Kindergarten Assessment

Mrs. Dunn and Holmes Elementary staff will follow-up with you via phone or e-mail with the following information after you have completed all the required materials for registration:

• A kindergarten assessment appointment date and time

• Your student’s first day of school

Kindergarten Student Orientation

We will also hold a Kindergarten STUDENT orientation on the evening of August 14, 2023 at Holmes Elementary.  More information will follow as the date approaches.  Parents will have an opportunity to meet teachers, tour the building, and prepare their students for the first day of school. 

Transportation Survey - Riding a bus

Complete our Transportation Interest Survey  if you plan for your student to ride a bus to school. You will receive an official survey to confirm a transportation request in the summer months.
