Lauren Raizk

Our WHS Alumni Spotlight is on Lauren Raizk, Class of 1995. While in high school, Lauren participated in Volleyball, Theater, Band, National Honor Society, and Phi Delta Sigma.

Lauren shared that during her time at WHS she had many wonderful teachers. Coach Gary Downing was very influential. As Lauren put it, “he was tough but made you want to work hard and I appreciated his sarcasm”. She also enjoyed teachers Steve Haines, Mrs. Luque, Mr. Ling, and Mr. Sexton.

After leaving WHS, she graduated from Wilmington College with a major in social/political studies with a concentration in pre-law. Lauren later graduated from Capital University Law School. Lauren has been practicing law for 17 years, and she is currently a partner in the law firm of Buckley, Miller, Wright & Raizk.  She also serves as a part-time Magistrate in the Clinton County Municipal Court. Lauren enjoys spending time with her husband and they have two sons who attend school in the Wilmington School District.  She shared that she enjoys working and living in a small community that offers opportunity for involvement.

Lauren’s advice to current and future WHS students is that high school is just the beginning, not the end. Try to enjoy the experience, the good and the bad, because all of it shapes who you will become.

At WCS, we wish all the best for Lauren and her family!  #CanePride #CaneConnectedCommunity
