Our next WHS Alumni Spotlight is Elliot Conti from the Class of 2008. Elliot participated in tennis, swimming, and The Hurricane Newspaper while at WHS. After graduation Elliot attended Denison University where he graduated in 2012. Elliot runs a non-profit in Nagoya, Japan called Global Aichi. He also has a podcast, "Made It In Japan," in which he deals with the topic of foreign residents. He is engaged to his “amazing” fiance Yurina, and they plan to marry in November of this year. His hobbies are yoga, triathlon, and wine, and his current research topics include productivity (both macro- and micro-economic) and urban sociology.

What is your favorite memory or staff member from your time at WHS?
“Great memories of tennis season all 4 years with Coach Reed. Qualifying for State in doubles and reaching the quarterfinals in 2008 was amazing. Also, qualifying for State in the 50 Free for my first time as a junior in 2007 was an incredible experience.”

What small piece of advice would you give to current WHS students?
“Explore the world! Take foreign language study seriously! It is a gateway to explore foreign cultures which could potentially change your life!”
