Samantha (Stewart) Hay '10

Our next WHS Alumni Spotlight is Samantha (Stewart) Hay from the Class of 2010.

Samantha played on the golf team all 4 years of high school and was on the War of Wits team from her sophomore to senior year of high school. After graduation Sam went to Wright State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. Recently Sam got married and lives in the greater Dayton area with her husband and two dogs. She is a Preschool Intervention Specialist for Hamilton City Schools and is currently pursuing her masters degree in Special Education with the goal of being an adjunct professor at a local college. In her spare time, she enjoy cooking, bike riding, and hiking with her husband and dogs.

What is your favorite memory or staff member from your time at WHS?
“My favorite class/memories were in Mrs. Julie Knoblauch's AP English class. She was one of my favorite teachers, as well Kim Harris. Both inspired me to pursue the field of education and encouraged my love for reading and how to spread that love to my future students.”

What small piece of advice would you give to current WHS students?
“There is ALWAYS more to life after high school! Don't be afraid to find yourself wherever you go!”
