Supt Spotlight!

WMS teacher and students working on math review

Our Supt Spotlight is shining on some awesome staff and students this week.

Our WMS teachers Ken Platt (7th Math) and Nick Hughes (Intervention Specialist) teamed up for a creative and engaging math review for their students. They took their students outside to complete Math Review Stations prior to a test.  Students were given math problems to solve together.  Then, prior to switching to a new station, they were provided with the answer key to check and discuss their answers. What a great way to engage students and enjoy a beautiful day at the same time.

Next up is Angie Snow, our new Behavior Coach. Angie provides coaching cycles with staff to increase  understanding of effective behavior management techniques. She also observes students, collaborates with staff, and assists with resources and interventions to implement for an individual and/or a classroom. In just a few short weeks she has made an incredible impact at Holmes Elementary helping students learn how to be their best selves by making positive choices in their behavior. We are excited to have her on our team, helping to improve the academic/social outcomes for our students and the climate in our schools.

We are #HurricaneProud of our WCS Team!
