Supt. Summer Spotlight
Our Summer Supt Spotlight is shining on 3 outstanding staff members!
1. Melissa Taylor and Stephanie Wheeler from our Food Service Dept. have been working hard each week to plan, prep, pack, and execute the distribution of weekly meal packs for kids 0-18 in our community. Each week they assemble nearly 600 meal packs (each with 7 lunches and 7 breakfasts!) for our weekly pick-up. That is over 30,000 meals distributed in June! Their supervisor, Jodie Havert, shared the following - "These two ladies truly care about the well-being of the children in our community and I have never been more proud as a supervisor to have such amazing people with huge hearts work with me." Please help us thank these to WCS Staff Members and all those helping with summer meal prep and distribution. Their hard work and dedication to the Wilmington community has been exceptional and from the heart. They are making a difference in our community each and every day.
2. We also have a huge THANK YOU for Bruce Davis, our Supervisor of Bldgs and Grounds. Bruce hit the ground running in January and hasn’t slowed down since. From overseeing everything from roof replacement and flooring, to keeping our food service department supplied with working coolers and carts (picture storing and moving over 1000 1/2 gallons of milk weekly!) Bruce has gone above and beyond this summer. Thank you for all your hard work behind the scenes to keep our buildings and programs running this summer and throughout the school year. (We tried to catch up with Bruce to get a picture, but he hasn’t stopped long enough to pose for one!)
